UK Digital Advertising Spend Grows to £2.6 billion in first half of 2012!

Despite the difficult UK economy, advertising on the internet and mobile phones increased by 12.6% to a record six-month high of £2.59 billion in the first half of 2012– up by over £294 million from £2.30 billion in the first half of 2011, according to the latest Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB) advertising expenditure report, conducted by PwC.

Paid for Search marketing continues to thrive due to its transparent and measurable nature, appealing during these budget-pressured times. Year-on-year search increased 15.9% on a like-for-like basis to £1,527 million from £1,318 million – representing a 59% share of digital advertising.

So, what are InTouch doing about digital marketing?

On the back of these trends InTouch has extended its offer and developed its service offering for clients and prospective clients.

InTouch completed a deal to bring digital agency Neon Lobster into InTouch from 1st January 2013. The MD of Neon Lobster Design, Frans Gerber, has become a Partner of InTouch and brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in web development and digital marketing.

Due to the merger of our two companies we can now offer web marketing services such as web design, search engine optimisation, social media solutions and many other digital services to help increase awareness for our clients and therefore increase visibility online, increase website traffic and generate more business opportunities.

InTouch have been working closely with Frans and his team for the last 18 months, and through this close working relationship we both realised that there was a real benefit in bringing our businesses together under one roof.

Adding these vital tools, which we all appreciate are becoming must haves in our communication mix, means that the InTouch offering becomes much more comprehensive.

Together we now plan to focus more on digital marketing strategies to take advantage of the trends highlighted in the Internet Advertising Bureau’s study which shows such strong growth trends.
